Who is eligible to become a member?

In order to promote PET in an efficient manner, it is of vital importance that Petcore has as wide a representation of the industry as possible.

All PET stakeholders are therefore welcome and eligible for membership. These include:

  • Raw materials producers
  • Resin manufacturers
  • Preform and bottle manufacturers
  • Machine manufacturers
  • Additive/masterbatch suppliers
  • PET recyclers
  • National recycling associations.

Membership is open to any company engaged in:

  • The commercial manufacture and sale of PET containers in Europe and/or the manufacture of PET containers for internal company use providing that such manufacture and use represent at least 50% of their total PET use
  • The commercial manufacture and sale of classes of polymers that are used to produce PET containers in Europe
  • The commercial manufacture and sale of materials, equipment or services used to produce PET resin or PET containers in Europe
  • The recyclers of PET
  • The National collection bodies

Membership Fees

The new financial model provides a lower membership fee and a mechanism to ensure that projects are selected and resourced by the members on an individual basis. This value-adding change will allow Petcore to continue its work for the PET stakeholder chain and to enhance its contribution to plastics waste management.

Additionally, we have moved to a new location in Ave Van Nieuwenhuyse and will continue to develop the strength of our expertise, website and our large PET recycling database.

There are now two classes of membership:

  1. Primary Members 13000€/a
  2. Ordinary Members 5000€/a
     

Voting rights for Petcore Organisational issues are 3 votes per Primary Member and 1 vote per Ordinary Member.

Members are free to choose which class of membership they wish to take.

There will be a single payment of the fees will be due in April each year.

How do we Join?

You can apply to be a Petcore member online, by visiting this form.

Membership will have to be approved by the Board of Directors.

The Board will act on each application for membership within ninety days following receipt of the application. Petcore has undergone a major operational change in the organisation.
