PET has come a long way since its European debut in the beverage container market in the late 1970s. Participation in setting the objectives and membership of the Petcore committees and specific task forces.
Members drive the exchange of news and information related to projects. They develop new projects, participate in national and Europe-wide initiatives and evaluate new processes and technologies to provide innovative solutions and remove obstacles to the progress of PET recycling.

The Petcore Technical Committee takes responsibility for assessing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats from new and emerging competitive materials which may impact on the PET recycle market.
Protocols and publications on aspects of PET recycling and the value chain
Petcore has published well respected protocols and advice on PET recycling, for example, the "Guidelines on the Evaluation of the Impact of PET Barrier Bottles on the Waste Stream”, was developed by the Petcore Technical Committee. These protocols are increasingly being used by industry to help in the development of new recyclable containers before market introduction. Updated and revised protocols will be written by members to reflect changes in today’s market environment.
We have been able to influence the recent revision of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and the Materials in Contact with Foodstuffs draft regulation on behalf of the PET industry.

The Petcore intranet, only available to members, provides up to date information on all aspects of PET recycling. Business issues, regulatory developments, statistics about collection and recycling are all at your disposal, whenever you need them. The Petcore intranet is also the repository of all internal Petcore documents such as committee meeting minutes, reports, speeches, news or contact details of fellow members.
