Baling

Process consisting in compacting recovered PET bottles. The bottles are first punctured then flattened and finally compacted into bales. This process allows to stack and transport recovered bottles easily.

Barrier technology

Technology developed to improve impermeability of PET containers. Thanks to this technology, the ingress of oxygen into the bottle and the permeation of gas from the container are dramatically reduced allowing beer and CSDs to have a prolonged shelf-life.
Barrier technology includes multi-layer, oxygen scavenging, internal/external coatings.

Blow moulding

Process typically used to manufacture containers. The main blow moulding processes are extrusion and injection blow moulding.
In the extrusion blow moulding process, a cylinder of resin is dropped from the extruder, the mould closes around the resin which is then expanded by the injection of air.
The injection blow moulding process requires the resin to be first moulded into a preform. The preform is subsequently transferred to a blow mould where it is expanded by the injection of air.

Bottle to bottle recycling/ Close loop recycling

Process consisting into turning collected post consumer PET bottles into new bottles through mechanical recycling or depolymerisation.
